John studied illustration at Birmingham College of Art, and has enjoyed a career as a successful freelance artist, working in all mediums, but specialising in watercolour. He prefers to work in a fast, loose, impressionistic style but always with the emphasis on good drawing skills. The workshop will focus on the following objectives:

To approach the medium in a relaxed way.

To learn how to use and control the pigment.

Learn how to depict water and reflections.

Explain why good drawing skills are important.

Refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring you own mug and lunch.
