Attwood's work deals with emotional memory;
particularly the emotions that can be evoked by memory of relationships. Attwood views these works as ‘ghosts of the memory of feeling’. It is the often vagueness of memory or emotion as to why he eschews a literal or ‘realist’ approach,
but leave space for a vague or unresolved interpretation.

Lucy Burton: Pointillism

Developed in the mid-1880s by Georges Seurat and Paul Signac, Pointillism applied a scientific approach to colour using small, distinct dots of pure colour that the viewer's eye blends optically into a full range of tones. Though initially ridiculed, this technique paved the way for Fauvism and Cubism, and it remains the fundamental principle behind modern screens and printing pixels.

Rachel Harwood is a local willow artist whose work explores the relationship between heritage, nature and place. Using sustainably sourced Somerset willow, she creates sculptural forms inspired by the natural world, capturing moments of movement, stillness and quiet observation. Her practice is rooted in a deep respect for natural materials, allowing the organic qualities of willow to guide each piece.

This work uses abstract, accidental mark-making techniques with bold, precise application of metal leaf and 24ct gold. I'm exploring the notions of spirituality, healing and humanity through the materiality of mixed media. I create tension between the perfect and imperfect and I am perpetually drawn to surfaces that shine. When the luminosity of a metallic surface meets the eye, our pleasure sensors are activated and energised.
