Paul’s workshop will go through some basic skills around finding likeness in a portrait, before leaning into how to make a really life-like image. We’ll be using just two charcoal pencils, one black and one white (yes, you can get white charcoal!) using a toned grey paper as base. All materials will be provided.
He promises using this simplistic set of materials in this workshop will unlock how to really leverage the power of using lights and darks in your work, whether monochrome or colour, drawn or painted! If you feel your work lacks that last layer of sumptuous reality, Paul thinks this lesson in managing values could be the step forward you need!
