Taking your artwork to the next level.
This course can be tailored for both beginners and artists who want to develop their knowledge and skills further to evolve their own artistic style.
You will bring your own drawing, painting projects and equipment to work on during the class, and Julie can provide short demonstrations on a variety of techniques including drawing, working with pastels, watercolours, acrylics, oils et cetera., whilst also giving one to one mentoring support, throughout the sessions.
We will start the course by looking at how to prepare to create a piece of artwork, including planning interesting compositions, griding up from your photographs, or you can bring a still life set up to work from. You will also study the use of values, tone and temperature, and how to evolve your artwork by working in layers, with your chosen medium, through to completing original, final outcomes.
Refreshments will be provided, do bring your own mug.
Julie is a full-time artist, who was trained at Central/St Martin’s, in London. She works in a variety of media, including oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels, etc. and currently teaches the popular Life Drawing class at Shottery on Monday mornings.
