Are you interested in art appreciation?
If so why not visit the link below and uncover the Nations Art Collection. This is a fantastic website with details on Pictures and Artists held in different public buildings: www.bbc.co.uk/arts/yourpaintings
Your Paintings website, which has been produced and maintained by the BBC, has been a great success, but requires updating. The BBC and the Public Catalogue Foundation have agreed that the best possible future for the initiative involves a successor site being run by the Public Catalogue Foundation, the charity that digitised the 200,000 artworks on Your Paintings, with continuing support from the BBC.
The new website takes the name Art UK and will be officially launched on 24th February, and will allow you to explore a growing range of publicly-held art, with many new features. At the same time, the existing Your Paintings website will be closed and all users will be redirected to www.ArtUK.org.
If you wish to, you will be able to recreate your folder of selected paintings using a similar facility on Art UK, though unfortunately we will not be able to automatically transfer your selection, and you will have to re-register as a user of the new site. You might want to make a record of your ‘My Paintings’ selection before the Your Paintings website closes on 24 February. One way to do this could be to take a screen shot of the various pages of paintings you have saved on Your Paintings.

Stratford–upon-Avon Decorative and Fine Arts Society (STRADFAS)
The aim of the Society is to increase their members’ enjoyment and appreciation of all the decorative and fine arts.
STRADFAS offers a varied programme of events which consists of lectures, as well as study days, visits, extended tours and volunteering activities.
Lectures are held in the Artshouse: 10.45 for morning members: 13.30 for afternoon members.
Lectures are free for members and for those attending as a visitor, there is a recommended donation of £7 per lecture.
You can find out more about the Society and how to become a member, on their website:
STRADFAS and The Stratford upon Avon Art Society
have come to a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ (gentlepersons agreement?) to avoid confusion in respect of our similar titles.
To avoid this, STRADFAS are not using the formal title recommended by its parent body (The Arts Society).
Their Membership Cards this year will simply be headed ‘STRADFAS’ . They will also have the designation ‘A member of the Arts Society’ (The new name for NADFAS) on the membership card, with the new Arts Society logo and colours.
